(Correction) We have adopted a cute baby girl from China!
We wrote this story as we went through our adoption. We have made a few minor
corrections, but otherwise left everything as is. We have had several people contact
us that are in the process of adopting, thinking about adopting, just like China,
or have already adopted. Please send us an e-mail if you like. We like hearing
from you. When you adopt, you don't just have a new member of your family, you belong
to a special club.
Introduction
Matt, Jody and Malcolm are excited to announce that our family is in the process of adopting a baby girl from China. We turned in all of our paperwork in April 2003 to our wonderful adoption agency, CASI Foundation for Children, and are now in the waiting period. We were expecting to hear something in April of 2004 and fly to China in June 2004, but now we are optimistic that we will hear something December 2003 and fly to China in February 2004.
Please follow us in our journey to adopt our little girl. As time goes on, this becomes more real to us. We have one biological son, Malcolm, and we have desired to have more children. Since things have just not worked out correctly we decided to adopt, rather than go through other painful processes.
Why did we choose China? For several reasons including, we have lived in China,
we like the Asian cultures, we have a son and wanted a daughter and China is where
the largest number of healthy baby girls are, we wanted to go back to China, and probably a
few other good reasons.
