May 25, 2007 - UPDATING JOURNAL
OK, so I am a little slow. I finally updated this current journal page, and moved
all the stuff from last year to 2006.
May 15, 2007 - LES MISERABLES
Here is another event Jody and I have been anticipating for a long time. A date night
and to go see Les Miserables. We went to Bonsai Tepanyaki Steak House and Sushi.
I think it is a little expensive, but it is good food. The meat, the shrimp and the
sushi are all very well done. It was a great dinner. Then we walked around the
University of Utah campus for a while. It brought back a lot of memories since having
gone to school there. The show was amazing and lived up to the hype. The singers
all did well and we loved how the stage was done. They even had the big turning platform
in the middle of the stage.
May ??, 2007 - MEDICAL BILLS
Sometime this month we met our medical deductible for the year. We have all had
our share of surgeries, shots and seeing the doctors. Hopefully things will start
to slow down. I guess we have to be grateful that we have insurance, even with the
problems we have had.
May 9, 2007 - TUBES IN EAR
Brianne had tubes put in her ear. The doctor told us last week that this is probably
the only way we are going to get all the gunk out of our ears and her feeling better.
Surgery was less than 30 minutes and she did fine.
April 28, 2007 - MORE SOCCER
This is the team day where we hand out uniforms and schedules and meet all the players.
Now it is nothing but soccer practice and games for the next six weeks.
April 19, 24, 2007 - SOCCER COACH
I tried to sign up as just the assistant coach, but since no one else did, I agreed
to be Malcolm's soccer coach for Spring soccer. The 19th was orientation at the Magna
rec center and the 24th was a Coach Training at the Glendale rec center. Should be
a good experience, but I have a lot to learn.
April 4 to 7, 2007 - DISNEYLAND GETAWAY
Yes, Jody and I went to Disneyland WITHOUT THE KIDS, for our anniversary. We have
been planning this trip since we went in October 2005 when Jody was pregnant with
Brianne. We had a great time, did a lot of rides and even got one of the Dream
Passes on one day. Next time we will probably have to take the kids. Now I have
to learn how to make mint juleps the way they do in Disneyland...
March 30, 2007 - BROKEN ARM
Malcolm broke his arm at school today. He was playing on the soccer goal posts and slipped
off and fell on his arm. He cleanly broke one of the bones about 2 inches from his wrist.
He got a green cast almost up to his shoulder. Then after a week, it was replaced
with another green cast just up to his elbow. Luckily it was his left arm and he got
it off before his first soccer game.
March 9, 2007 - MRI
I had my first MRI done this morning for some numbness I have had in my left foot in my two
little toes. Then I had another test done with my doctor in the afternoon. That
is definitely something I do not want to do again since it included poking and shocking.
Results come back that I have a disc protrusion. I didn't do anything
purposely to hurt it, and it will take a few months to heal.
February 19, 2007 - NEW WATER HEATER
We found that our water heater was leaking a little bit so we had to buy a new one.
A good friend helped us get a good deal on one and we went for the 50 gallon instead
of the 40 gallon. Then we had another friend Ric Bezzant come and help us install
it. I sure learned a lot of things. I least I helped a little but getting the old
one out of there. And a few days later some guys collecting scrap metal were driving
by and asked if they could have the old. That was a win-win situation.
February 5 to 9, 2007 - HELP
We were very grateful to have lots of people come over and help us this week to
watch Jody and the kids and help around the house and with some meals. It really
took a burden off of me. Thanks to everyone that helped us!
February 1, 2007 - SURGERY
Jody had surgery to remove a cyst. Everything went pretty well, except she ended
up staying in the hospital for two days instead of coming straight home.
January 22, 2007 - JAPANESE DOLLS
Went and had a lunch date with my family at the West Valley City Cultural Arts Center.
They were having a display of wooden Japanese dolls called Kokeshiki. The dolls and
other wood turned toys and other dolls were real neat. We saw a book about West Valley
City's 20th anniversary, and scored a free copy of it.
